Most audio edits are one job on one file: shorten it, cut a section out, join two takes, make it louder, take the hiss off. Every one of those runs here, in this tab, for free. Nothing is uploaded — the audio is decoded and re-encoded on your own machine, so a file you would not email to a stranger is safe to open.

When the browser is the wrong place
A tab has limits an installed program does not, and there are exactly three worth knowing about. Cutdesk is the same tools as a Windows application.
Recordings over an hour. The browser engine runs out of address space there; Cutdesk opens files up to four hours.
Whole folders at once. Point it at a directory and it converts everything inside, instead of one file per visit.
Work that survives closing the window. A project file keeps the loaded audio, the cut points and every setting.
