Windows 10 & 11

cut.audio Studio for Windows

A multitrack editor and a waveform editor that work on the same clip. Arrange in one, operate in the other — with nothing to export in between.
Two editors, one clip
Open any clip from the timeline in Waveform and work on it up close. What you change there is the clip on the timeline — nothing to export, nothing to import, one undo history.
Effects are switches
Normalize, speed and pitch, reverse, noise removal, reverb: switch them on per clip, change the setting later, or switch them off and have the original back.
Projects that remember everything
With Pro, the whole session saves to one .cut file — every track, clip, cut and effect. Open it again tomorrow and carry on exactly where you stopped.
A whole folder in one run
Process converts, normalizes or cleans up every file in a folder with one setting. The results go into a subfolder of their own; your originals are never overwritten. Three files per run are free.
Native speed on long files
The audio engine runs on your CPU directly — no browser memory ceiling, no tab throttling. Hour-long interviews stay responsive.
Fully offline
Everything runs on your PC. The free version needs no internet and no account. For Pro, you sign in once.

One session, four views

Waveform: the same clip up close — its start and end, a section taken out, a cut point.

Clip Tools: effects are switches. Here a reverb, its three-second tail marked on the clip.

Audio Pool: every file and the clips made from it, ready to drag onto the timeline.

Process: a whole folder normalized in one run.

One subscription. Everything unlocked.

Save and reopen projects, unlimited exports, as many tracks as you need, whole folders in one run, files up to four hours, MP3 at 320 kbps.

Two editors. One clip.

Editing audio usually means choosing a tool. A multitrack editor is good at arranging — the voice here, music under it, a sting on top — and clumsy at surgery. A waveform editor is good at surgery — the exact start of a word, the breath to take out — and knows nothing about the arrangement. So you export from one, import into the other, and do it all again when you change your mind. In cut.audio Studio they are the same thing. Select a clip on the timeline and open it in Waveform: there is its audio up close, with its start and end, the sections you have taken out and its cut points. Move any of them and the clip on the timeline has already changed. There is no file to save, nothing to bring back, and one undo history that runs through both.

Effects you can switch off again

Normalize loudness, change speed and pitch, reverse, remove noise, add reverb: in Clip Tools each of these is a switch on the clip, not another file in a folder. Switch one on and the clip sounds and looks that way everywhere — a slowed clip gets longer on the timeline, a reversed one shows its waveform reversed, and a reverb's tail is added to the end and marked, so you can see where the audio stops and the ring begins. Change the setting next week, or switch it off and have the original back. The processing runs in the background while you keep working.

A folder in, a folder out

Working through a whole folder is the part no browser tab can do at any price, because it reads and writes real files in a real folder. Choose the folder, choose one operation — convert, normalize to -14, -16 or -23 LUFS, remove noise, remove silence, stereo and mono, speed and pitch — and Process applies it to every file with the same settings. The results go into a subfolder of their own, nothing is overwritten, and not one file leaves your PC. The free download does three files per run; Pro removes the limit.

Come back to it tomorrow

An edit worth doing rarely fits in one sitting. With Pro, the whole session saves to a single .cut file you keep like any other document: the tracks, the clips, every cut, every effect and its settings. Open it next week and carry on. Without Pro every tool still works from start to finish and you can export the result — what you cannot do is save the session itself.

And it stays out of your way

A two-hour session stays responsive because the engine is native rather than a browser tab. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is queued on a server, so you open a file and it is ready — and once installed, it keeps working with no internet connection at all.

Free to use, clear about the limits

cut.audio Studio is free to download and every tool in it works. The free version holds three tracks, makes ten exports a day, processes three files per run and opens files up to one hour. cut.audio Pro is one monthly subscription that saves your projects, removes those limits, opens files up to four hours and exports MP3 at 320 kbps — in the app on up to two computers, and in your browser.
